Catherine Anne O'Hara OOC (born March 4, 1954) is a Canadian-American actress and comedian. O'Hara has been awarded a variety of awards which include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award) and two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named an Officer of Canada. In 2020 , she received the Governor General’s Performing Arts Performing Arts Artistic Achievement Award. O'Hara made her debut as an actress in 1974 when she was part of The Second City, an Improv comedy group in Toronto. She was a part of the principal ensemble cast of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978) together with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd. The following year, O'Hara and Candy began work on the sketch comedy series Second City Television (1976-1984) and she earned praise from critics for her work as a comedic actress and as a writer, winning a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series in 1981. O'Hara was a member of the newly formed Second City artistic Advisory Board, which was led by Stephen Colbert. Other members of the board were Dwayne Colbert. Tina Fey. Keegan–Michael Key.
